Moonshine Pecan Pie

This is a really great pie. I make these pies to take for gifts, and my friends always love to get one of these pecan pies. I make these pies with Moonshine syrup that I buy at Green Tree Pecans in Powell Texas.
* If you can not find the Moonshine syrup, you can substitute 3/4 c. Dark Karo, and 1/4 c. Maple syrup.

(Just a suggestion, but you can blend in some rum, cognac, or bourbon with the syrup to take it up a notch. KR)

 1 cup Moonshine Syrup
 1 cup Pecans, finely chopped
 ¼ cup butter
 1 cup Sugar
 1 tsp Vanilla
 3 Eggs beaten
 1 uncooked pie crust

Cream the butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl. Add the eggs, vanilla, and syrup. Stir really well. Add the pecans, stir well. Pour into the pie shell. Bake at 325 degrees for about 40 minutes, or until the middle does not shake. I buy mini cookie cutters and cut out shapes with pie dough. I put the cut outs on the top of the pie and around the edge of the pie. * Pre bake the ones that go on top until they are not quite done. Put those on the top of the pie about the last 5 minutes of cooking. The edge decorations are cooked with the pie. Cool for several hours, before cutting.
